Caterpillar - Furcula borealis

Caterpillar - Furcula borealis
Newark Watershed, Passaic County, New Jersey, USA
September 5, 2007
On Black Cherry.

Moved
Moved from Furcula.

Genus Furcula
here in guide. According to Wagner, it's only early instars that have the spined thoracic knobs seen on this one. F. borealis is one that feeds on cherry, and though I can't say for sure this is it, it seems very likely.

Cherry
According to the HOSTS database, F. borealis is the only species that feeds on cherry.
