Eastern Carpenter Bee? - Xylocopa virginica - male

Eastern Carpenter Bee? - Xylocopa virginica - Male
Maypearl, Ellis County, Texas, USA
October 21, 2017
We've had several of these bees lately, they're a little smaller and hairier than the usual Eastern Carpenter Bees we've had in the flowers. I think they're probably still X. virginica? And can you tell me what to look for to tell the difference in X. virginica and X. virginica texana? Thanks!
