Sudden swarm winged black bugs and golden ants

Sudden swarm winged black bugs and golden ants
Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA
Any clue? Lacewings? The winged bugs look black. The non-winged look like little golden ants. No idea what they are doing.

Those look like Lasius clavig
Those look like Lasius claviger, Citronella ants. The larger winged ones are new queens flying out to start a new nest. The smaller gold ones are the workers of the colony. This species is almost entirely subterranean. The queens also have to found nests by parasitic means; replacing a queen of another species in another colony.
