Asilid - Andrenosoma xanthocnemum

Asilid - Andrenosoma xanthocnemum
Resaca De La Palma State Park, Cameron County, Texas, USA
August 11, 2017
A. xanthocnemum? Larger version is here.

Unfortunately this is the only decent shot I got. This beauty was perched on a fallen tree that had a very tangled mess of a slash pile in front of it. Extremely hard to get a good shot without disturbing it and I didn't have my 180mm lens along. After I got this shot I must have bumped a branch. I searched the surrounding area and returned the next day but no luck.

This spot was the slash pile. This area was pretty good for Andrenosoma. I think at least 2 species were seen in this slash pile and other individuals were found on the bunch of trees just to the east and also on the path to the south paralleling New Carmen Ave.

Moved
Moved from Andrenosoma.

Confirmed as Andrenosoma xant
