Size: about 3.5 mm
I collected a dozen or so of these little guys with a sweepnet from blooming roadside asters. At first I thought they were bee*tle larvae but they had a hopper-like gait to them and a brief session with my pocket loupe revealed they were indeed young hoppers. I also collected adult hoppers from the same plants that I assume are the preceding generation of the same species:
