white weevil - Trichobaris compacta

I am pretty sure that this fellow is some type of Weevil , but I found the color interesting , so thought I would post him . I found him on wild Sunflower leaves with his proboscus up to no good . I found a few on some type of white flowering morning glory weed that all the bees love , busily chewing on the flower petals . Thanks for any comments , Beth

Yes, an interesting species, but I cannot identify it further. Sounds as if Convolvulaceae (morning glory family) is the host according to your observations. Weevils of this group tend to be rather choosy concerning their food, so knowledge may support ID.

This looks like the weevils that are common on Jimsonweed (Datura). I suspect that that may be your white flower.
