Identification
Species included in this complex are the western pensilis, acutipennis, and dimocki, the southern Plains teligera, the northeastern vicina, and sareta, which is widespread throughout the west and also occurs in the boreal forests of eastern Canada and the extreme northeastern US. Before the 2015 revision of this complex, vicina was considered a very widespread species, but the vicina now refers only to a northeastern entity found from New England to Tennessee.(1)
