Uca pugnax - male

Uca pugnax - Male
Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA

Abundant in tidal mud flats. This one was walking up onto the sand, and looked like it had an injury.

Moved, Uca pugnax (male)
Moved from ID Request. There are three New England species. Lack of red coloration in joints eliminates minax and lack of purple of the carapace eliminates pugilator. The big claw is really small in this little guy.
