Can`t be certain this is Syrphus rectus
Can`t be certain this is Syrphus rectus. Males can`t be separated from vitripennis male, even with specimens in the hand and can`t be separated from ribesii without being able to see a high resolution picture of the 2nd basal cell.
Safe in Syrphus .... male...
