I believe this is in the genus Ancistrocerus. It looks a little like A. campestris, but the yellow line on the first tergite is not right. I read M. Buck's comments on photo 33117 regarding Ancistrocerus lutonidus; the more confluent spots on the scutellum seem appropriate, but my insect does not have two spots on tergum 2. Is this small mason wasp identifiable to species?

This imported species seems to thrive well in North America this year, having reached at least Michigan State from the Atlantic coast. Ironically, I can hardly find a few of them here in their homeland, despite the Goldenrod season has begun.
