Which Ancistrocerus, please? - Ancistrocerus gazella - Female
Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan, USA
September 17, 2007
Size: <10 mm
I believe this is in the genus Ancistrocerus. It looks a little like A. campestris, but the yellow line on the first tergite is not right. I read M. Buck's comments on photo 33117 regarding Ancistrocerus lutonidus; the more confluent spots on the scutellum seem appropriate, but my insect does not have two spots on tergum 2. Is this small mason wasp identifiable to species?
