Ah, you have here an example of Episyron posterus, I believe. Neat find, new species for the guide. Do wait for Nick Fensler to confirm.

 
Indeed.
The species that you refer to is correct, the name however, is not. The correct name is E. conterminus posterus. This species is listed as such in Wasbauer and Kimsey, 1985 (CA spider wasps of the subfamily Pompilinae) and is still listed as such on the Pompilid Project website, so I assume that is still the valid name. VERY nice find and great shots, especially for shot of an Episyron (they don't call them "hurricane" and "tornado" wasps for nothin').
