E. vinctalis is close but does not have a black ST spot on hind wing. Very close to the photo by J. Vargo at MPG. There is also one MPG record only one TX county away in NM. At light.

Some features seem closer to Cornifrons actualis. However, Evergestis simulatilis is very similar.
