Tree Cricket - Neoxabea bipunctata - male

Tree Cricket - Neoxabea bipunctata - Male
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
September 18, 2007
This cricket really stood out against the green leaf since it looked almost white from a distance. Getting closer it looked more reddish.

Neoxabea bipunctata is my guess based on the other photos. And it must be a male since the wings are transparent. If I got this all correct, I'll be ecstatic!

Wow, these are really nice images, too! Your ID of species and gender are right on the mark.

Thanks. This was such a strange-looking cricket. The color (or lack thereof)made me think at first that it was an albino until I found the other photos.
