Cloudless Sulphur - Phoebis sennae - Male

This was around most of the day today and appears to be larger than the Orange Sulphur that visited in July. It only seemed to be interested only in the Nasturtium, and spent most of the time buried in them.

Cloudless Sulphur
Phoebis sennae is a summer migrant from further south. Some years it is common, others there are none at all. The caterpillars feed mostly on Cassia / Senna species. Unlike many butterflies, they seem to like red flowers. This one looks like a male.

Moving to the guide for the data (even though a less than fitting image), it is a first for WV. I'll attempt to capture a better one. FWIW, Spicebush Swallowtails seem to be attracted to these blooms also.
