Priocera castanea? - Priocera castanea

Priocera castanea? - Priocera castanea
California/Home, St. Mary's County, Maryland, USA
June 10, 2017
I found this nicely marked beetle at the porch light. I think it's a Priocera castanea. Can you confirm? Thanks!

Agreed
Moved from Beetles.

I kept image as it adds Maryland datapoint to distribution.

Better image from the next week
I have a better image from the next week. Didn't want to submit it with this one becaue I couldn't be sure it was the same individual. If you'd like, I can exchange the images, this fuzzy one for the better one? Here it is uncropped:

Image quality
That might be a good idea, if you wanted to rotate and crop the better image. If you replace this image, make sure to edit date though as well.

belay that order
Well, after I opened the image and cropped it, it's not a whole lot better. Even after enhancing the clarity it's about the same. So, I'll just leave it as is. At least it's a new MD record! There are no photographed specimens on the Maryland Biodiversity Project's web page either. It was so tiny and I use my cell phone camera so not often the best images for small stuff. Need to get a macro lens/flash setup for my DSLR.
