My girlfriend's pool seems to have lots of these spiders floating at the top (and sometimes a goner at the bottom). I've seen four at a time in one particular corner. Usually, when I rescue them, they speed away. Is this a grass spider?

Shizocosa spp
Hi,
This is a wolf spider, most likely a Schizocosa genus. They get large and can skim on water (as some spiders can because they don't break the surface tension!).
They like to get into pool filters, as well.
Cool find!
Have a good one,
