Green Lynx spider ? - Oxyopes salticus

Green Lynx spider ? - Oxyopes salticus
Manteca, San joaquin County, California, USA
September 20, 2007
Size: 1/2 "
I posted a jumping Lynx who was sparkling gold colored about 2 months ago and have not seen him since ... sadly . Today I was excited to find this spider whom I believe to be a green Lynx spider though it is more of a tan color . I really am not sure if it is a Lynx spider , how can you tell for sure ? This one did not jump like on a pogo stick as my first Lynx , so I am perplexed , I thought all Lynx spiders jumped high . Anyways it's dark prickly looking leg hairs reminded me of my previous Lynx spider . I was going through the " guide " when I found an entry by Jeff Hollenbeck of a spider molting , which was a cool series , and it looked more like mine then the green Lynx ... the name of that was Oxyopes Salticus , so what is the difference between that one and the green Lynx ? I am a total newbie , but learning so much since I got struck with the " bug " back in June . It was a cool day and I was bummed that the bugs would not be out as much today when I saw this spider in my yard ! Thankyou so much for any comments , sincerely Beth

O. salticus
I think those lines on the sides of the head makes this O. salticus. See plate XI on Brady 1964.
