California Sister Butterfly ? - Adelpha californica

California Sister Butterfly ? - Adelpha californica
Danville / Mt. Diablo, Contra Costa County, California, USA
September 15, 2007
Size: 2"
Since I found this pretty Butterfly in California on Mt. Diablo , it is likely the California species distinguishable from the Arizona sister by the outside wing pattern . The inside pattern ( when the wings are spread flat open ) is exactly the same . Thanks for any comments . There were many types of butterflies floating freely overhead and I was so happy when this one landed even though it posed on poison oak . Thanks , Beth
