Milkweed bug nymphs are confusing me.
I believe these nymphs are Oncopeltus fasciatus.

The "see also" section describes how to distinguish nymphs of the large and small milkweed bugs. What adult bugs were on the plant? Since I am not experienced with hemipterans, there may be a chance that it is neither the large nor the small species.
