Bee on Deam's Baptisia - Megachile

Bee on Deam's Baptisia - Megachile
Ober Savanna Nature Preserve, Starke County, Indiana, USA
June 17, 2017
A bee -- looks like a Megachile -- visiting Deam's baptisia (Baptisia X deamii) at Ober Savanna Nature Preserve, a high quality black oak sand savanna managed by TNC. Deam's baptisia is a hybrid of B. alba and B. tinctoria, and a wide array of forms intermediate between those two species can be found at Ober Savanna.
