Invasive from warm temperate Asia, this is our only essentially black ponerine.

 
I don't know that Maryland ha
I don't know that Maryland has been confirmed to have B. chinensis yet (though its between states that do so its not shocking) - should someone be notified?

but not reported much from Maryland. I found one record here:

Ponera/Hypoponera princess?
Maybe something ponerine - Ponera or Hypoponera, or maybe Brachyponera (don't think Brachyponera though)? I don't think the critical angles to make a determination are very clear.
