Apristus subsulcatus

Apristus subsulcatus
Front Royal, Warren County, Virginia, USA
August 1, 2017
Found running on a sidewalk in sunlight on a hot day.
Differs from the other eastern species, A. latens by: sinuate margins of pronotum with sharp produced hind angles, aeneous/greenish hue to dorsal body surface (not apparent here, but striking when the beetle was seen alive), and elytral apex lacking sinuation.
