Beetle - Gymnetis thula

Beetle - Gymnetis thula
National Butterfly Center, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
November 6, 2017
Size: 3 cm
Someone suggested this is a Harlequin Beetle, but I think Harlequin Beetles are in the Longhorn family. This beetle was feeding on rotting fruit. Is there a common name or a scientific name? Thanks.
