100 Acre Wood, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
July 8, 2015
Size: 2+ mm
July 7, 2015: collected Blue Wood Aster, Symphyotrichum cordifolium, leaves with small blotch mines. I noticed them as much by feel, a small bump, as by sight.
July 14, 2015: a gall fly emerged, unfortunately a very poor photo
perhaps Asteromyia modesta
