Oncopeltus fasciatus eggs

Oncopeltus fasciatus eggs
Hillsborough County, Florida, USA
They seem to lay eggs in almost any crevice, without regard to the environment. Some have laid eggs through the conjunction where the milkweed cutting meets the lid of the water bottle, dropping their offspring into the water below (nonetheless, some of the soaked eggs successfully hatched after being collected and dried).

I also just found out today that these insects, or at least their nymphs, will cannibalize on eggs whenever necessary.
