Shiny Macrosaccus sp. - Macrosaccus

Shiny Macrosaccus sp. - Macrosaccus
Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska, USA
September 23, 2017
Size estimated ~5 mm or so, can't find measurement in notes. I know, I'm finally getting something that may be from this genus submitted from NE, as advertised several months ago. :) This individual was at a light, found in the morning, and probably attracted to the light? Also had one indoors the same morning that I suspect was the same species (to be submitted later). Seems to best resemble Macrosaccus morrisella (#0773) except...where are they coming from? Both host plants listed in an article on the genus occur within the county, but I don't think we have seen them in the vicinity of the house. We had a huge outbreak of these things last year (hopefully will post several examples from that outbreak after I get all of this year's moths taken care of?) where there would be a half dozen on the back door screen at a given time, during the day, apparently not attracted by light. Perhaps the larvae eat something else too? Or I have the species wrong on all of them? I'll probably post everything I have that look like this over time to check the identification, so help is much appreciated.
