Solar panel bucket trap
What is the design of this trap? I had been envisioning a solar-powered UV light trap for flying insects, but since it caught this flight-incapable carabid I'm curious what it actually is!

Trap photos are posted
Curt - I posted some of the photos. If you want a more detailed diagram, email me.

Very cool, thanks!
Looks like the surrounding vegetation is tall enough for this beetle to have climbed in rather than flown.

Moved
Moved from Cyclotrachelus.

Of the two Cyclotrachelus known in WI,
this is C. sodalis sodalis.

Thanks!
I really struggled with those "sutures" on the top of the elytra and the deep one in the middle of the pronotum. It seemed those should be diagnostic yet they were varied.
