Yellow faced Bee ?? - Halictus ligatus - male

Yellow faced Bee ?? - Halictus ligatus - Male
Livermore / Sycamore grove park, Alameda County, California, USA
September 22, 2007
Size: 1 cm
I found this soggy fellow on a rainy day lounging on a wild Sunflower with many of his kind . I saw the yellow spot on his nose , which I had never seen before , and thought maybe he is a yellow faced Bee ? It kind of looks like the post from Canada , but they think it is a Wasp . Thanks for any comments , Beth

Moved from Halictus.

Doesn't appear to be a yellow-masked bee
The ones I've seen have the facial yellow in a different place and some yellow on the thorax. However, the legs didn't have yellow.
