I agree wih Pine tree cricket....
Nice photo.
This looks like one of the 'dark' forms that have been found near Lyons, Colorado. They are presumed to be O. pini, but more study is needed, i.e. do they produce offspring with the paler forms found in other parts of the country.
I see that Lion's Lair trail has a lot of conifers. Are there many very dark barked conifers?
