Chestnut Crescent...? - Anthanassa argentea - female

Chestnut Crescent...? - Anthanassa argentea - Female
Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Texas, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
December 24, 2017
Most of the marks seem to point to a Chestnut Crescent female. My understanding is female Chestnuts and Pale-banded Crescents are very similar. The Sub-marginal band widens to a spike like the Chestnut. Spotting and banding more whitish than cream. The reddish hue along the outer edge of the FW and overall reddish hue seems more in line with a Chestnut Crescent.
