Tall Thoroughwort stem galls - Neolasioptera perfoliata

December 27, 2017: while scattering prairie seeds, spotted stem galls on Tall Thoroughwort, Eupatorium altissimum

May 3, 2018: first wasp emerged from single gall


May 21, 2018: first wasp emerged from double galls


October 10, 2008: first collected these galls on a hill prairie remnant

on a plant I didn't recognize
October 19, 2011: now recognizing the plant I finally recollected them, again on a hill prairie remnant


Delighted to now find them on a planted (faux) prairie, PPIP

Wow, that's great!
I rarely see this plant in planted prairies, and certainly I've never seen these galls in a planting. Congratulations!
