Range
native to the Palaearctic (the Mediterranean to so. Siberia; considered adventive in the UK and Finland)(1)(2), adventive in NA: ne. US (NY-OH-VA)(3) & QC ("in Canada [...] it is only known from the province of Qu├ębec as far as I know. I don't think that this has been published but we will include this species in a monograph on darkling beetles of Canada and Alaska in the near future." --Patrice Bouchard, pers. comm. to =v= 11.i.2012)
