Ant mimic Largid - Arhaphe carolina

Ant mimic Largid - Arhaphe carolina
Otting Tract WMA, Chattooga County, Georgia, USA
September 23, 2007
Referencing the Catalog of Heteroptera (Henry and Froeschner) and How To Know The True Bugs (Slater and Baranowski) this is Arhaphe carolina, known from the SE with a couple of questioned records from the SW. This one looks different than the other two images on Bugguide from AZ, so I suspect they may be A. cicindeloides (known from AZ and NM) but I don't have any key to this genus and this is only speculation. The only other member of this genus is A. breviata known only from KS.
