My dad started seeing these things in his house about a year ago. They seem to be infesting his place. There are always a couple of them somewhere inside. They do not move much when you are watching them, but they fly around in the dark, to appear stationary when the lights are on. We do not know what they eat or why they are in the house. Dad thinks it is an acorn weevil. It looks to me like a stink bug, though he says there is no smell.

Take a look at...
...Halyomorpha halys - Brown Marmorated Stink Bug.

You can read a little about them on their Info page.

Damage
Thanks for the information. I just found one on my front porch. They appear to be moving in. I notice that the damage fruit crops. I wonder if our orange tree will succumb. I did not see damage specifically to oranges.

Good luck with you oranges...
I lost my satsuma tree this year to citrus canker. The state says I am not allowed to plant any other citrus tree in my yard - forever...

The BMSB has many host, hopefully for you, they will find something else to feed on :)
