Wonder if this is a species of Chauliognathus distinct from either discus or marginatus?? Anybody out there know or have and idea?

yup, new one! C. obscurus
using the
key to the genus
, this keys easily to
C. obscurus
Schaeffer - "Elytra black, lateral margins narrowly and epipleurae (yellow) to middle or apical third, pronotum (yellow) with or without broad median logitudinal black stripe". Distribution: AZ.
Great find! Keep looking for this genus - most of the remaining species not in the Guide come from AZ, including
C. arizonensis
Another new species for BugGuide :)
