you use? BugGuide lists 46 species in the genus and the listed range info isn't state specific.

Hi,
This does appear to be a Drassyllus! They are in the family Gnaphosidae, a sort of "catch-all" group with uniformly colored ground spiders. All of which are docile and harmless! This is a great specimen to show others what a Drassyllus looks like.
