Gracillariidae, upper side of leaf - Phyllocnistis insignis

Gracillariidae, upper side of leaf - Phyllocnistis insignis
Chipera Prairie, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
May 25, 2017
May 25, 2017: collected mined leaves of Groundsel/Ragwort, Packera sp. at the disturbed entrance to a prairie remnant. Previously this year I collected similar mines on Groundsel/Ragwort at Plymouth Rock planted prairie and later at Red Oak Prairie hill prairie remnant, every place I found the plant. I mention this because I'd not previously seen these mines on this plant which probably means I hadn't paid attention.
June 4, 2017: on or before, an adult moth
