Soldier Fly - Odontomyia cincta - Odontomyia cincta - female

Soldier Fly - Odontomyia cincta - Odontomyia cincta - Female
Kenner, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, USA
September 19, 2007
Odontomyia cincta - This is composed of 3 seperate pictures using Photoshop to show several angles of one fly.
The 'gold' spot on her back appeared black to the naked eye. The gold is only visible in the pictures...

Looks kinda...odd
Maybe it's the shadows, which indicate light coming from three directions.

You are correct...
Very perceptive.

Not an attempt to fool anybody. As stated in the original caption, same fly, 3 different shots photoshopped together to show several angles of the same fly in 1 image.

You have quite an impressive photo collection here. I will be spending a lot of time looking through them :)

I'd forgotten your fritillaries.
Lookin' very good there. I think photos altered like these are just fine, as long as they're explained as yours are. Eager to see more, and thanks for your kind words, other Ron.
