vote for lecontei, too
because of the black band tapering at shoulders.

A nice accent for your car
All I get are dead flies. Black and red - my car color - are favored by insects, especially if the finish is metallic. (Looks like water is the theory.)

Yes we also found lots of tin
Yes we also found lots of tiny water beetles, fried on impact.

Deloleya lecontei
this is the light form of Deloleya lecontei

The dark and the gold flecked
did look very much alike. I think the spelling in the guide is Deloyala.
Now, after I've found them in the guide: this one looks like D. guttata to me.

Correction
Now I've looked at biol.uni.wroc.pl/cassidae/katalog%20internetowy/deloyalaguttatafig1.htm and there the guttatas have more irregular spots while the ones of lecotei seem to be larger and more regular.

active links
Hi Margarete and Rob,

In case you would like to create clickable, active links to other Web pages, here are two examples with code written in code so you can see it:

http://www.biol.uni.wroc.pl/cassidae/katalog%20internetowy/deloyalaguttatafig1.htm

these tortoise beetle images

Now written correctly, the code disappears and you see active links:

http://www.biol.uni.wroc.pl/cassidae/katalog%20internetowy/deloyalaguttatafig1.htm

Thanks
I've been wondering how to do it.
