Dolomedes albineus

Dolomedes albineus
Montgomery County, Ohio, USA
February 15, 2018
Size: 4mm
Found a couple of these little ones next to each other. Maybe they hatched early due to this week's rise in temperature here?

odd spiders
the range of albineus does not extend as far north as other Dolomedes, yet it is one species of Dolomedes that can be found during winter months. It can be found as far north as Franklin Co, Ohio and the southern 2/3 of Illinois and Indiana

Yeah, I've been surprised that it's the only fishing spider species I've come across so far in Ohio in the past couple years of living here. I've seen some D. albineus observations around Akron, Ohio on iNaturalist, though given the map data here, that makes more sense since it is on the eastern side of Ohio.
