orange moth with rorschach blots - Udea rubigalis

orange moth with rorschach blots - Udea rubigalis
Chilton County, Alabama, USA
February 15, 2018
This was a rusty moth with fairly distinct AM and PM lines. Between the two, he had a complicated series of light and dark orbicular/reniform (?) spots. The black one reminded me of a Rorschach blot. There is a very straight dark brown line running from his head to the median line. There was a distinct light tan patch behind his head and what appeared to be a heart shape. His terminal line was a series of dark brown dashes and he had light tan fringe.
