The closest thing I could find on bugguide.net was Calligrapha alni, but the markings didn't match exactly. I'm curious if there is variation in the markings on individuals. Or if this is some other insect altogether? Thanks in advance. Awesome site, btw.

The markings can vary but usually the pattern is set for a species. host plants are the main route for identifying specimens in the 'philadelphica' and 'scalaris' groups.

Same antennae form and fairly distinctive elytria, as a matter of fact, almost exact same pattern as whats ID'd as C. alni here.
11 out of the 36 or so native species in this genus represented as ID'd here so far.
