Wolf Spider - Gladicosa gulosa
Pittsboro, Chatham County, North Carolina, USA
Size: ~1 1/2 inches
Numerous individuals of this species were moving through the leaf litter on a south-facing slope and making a tapping and purring sounds with their abdomens and pedipalps, respectively, on the dry leaves.
