Red walking stick (Diapheromera persimilis) - female - Diapheromera persimilis - female

Red walking stick (Diapheromera persimilis) - female - Diapheromera persimilis - Female
Travis County, Texas, USA
October 5, 2017
Size: 6 - 8 inches (I think)
I had help in identifying this walking stick as Diapheromera persimilis, female. She arrived near the base of my free-standing garage in early October 2017 and hung around for about 4 days, going up and down the rock wall. Then she disappeared. I had never seen a red walking stick before, so wasn't sure what it was but a local entomologist helped me to identify it.
