Identification

This species or group of species has the anal cell (aka cell cup) with closed distally with a straight vein usually with a stump vein off the posterior corner. Legs are yellow basally, black distally. Abdomen is pale basally, often with dark bands.

Range

Specimens known from New Jersey to Texas.

Habitat

This species, or one of several species of similar appearance, was described as associated with coastlines and large rivers in an unpublished revision of eastern Hilara.

Season

Late March to early April in the south.
