The two images are from a body of still, fresh water with lots of organic matter. They are also the best photos available considering a lack of proper equipment that day - so the photos may not be clear enough for a response, but wanted to give it a try. Image1 appears to include some type of backswimmer, but mainly, what I am trying to determine is if it is accompanied by seed shrimp. Please note the top left/edge of the submerged male pine cone - there are tiny little things on and around it. Can anyone tell whether they are possibly seed shrimp - or just some type of mung? Thanks if anyone has any ideas...
