spider wasp with spider - Priocnemis minorata

spider wasp with spider - Priocnemis minorata
Sudbury, Massachusetts, USA
April 14, 2005
The wasp was carrying a large spider to her hole in the ground. When she got to the hole, she went in first, pulling the spider out of sight.

Moved
Moved from Spider Wasps.

Probably Priocnemis sp.
Priocnemis minorata is virtually the only spider wasp active this early in the year in the northeast U.S., so I'm betting that is what this is. Nice work!

Priocnemis minorata
Thanks for the ID Eric.
