Eriocraniella platyptera - Eriocraniella mediabulla - female

Eriocraniella platyptera - Eriocraniella mediabulla - Female
Laurinburg, Scotland County, North Carolina, USA
April 10, 2017
Specimen dissected by Terry Harrison: "the female moth from North Carolina is definitely Eriocraniella mediabulla. The vaginal sclerite has no hint of a keel, and as mentioned in the description of E. mediabulla, the 9th segment of this species has something similar to the "pockets" that are seen in subgenus Eriocraniella, except that these structures are not finely spinose in E. mediabulla, as they are in Eriocraniella."
