Sitting on log alongside creek, oak-juniper woodland. As I was photographing it I noticed a wasp (far right) parasitizing the caterpillar - guess it won't be turning into a moth.

Host/parasite…
Host is possibly Gloveria arizonensis; unable to drill down on the Ichneumonoidea parasite based on this image alone.
